It has been a busy January! I officially announced I will be competing for Miss Georgia USA!
This month started with photoshoots with both Mina Brown Photography and Sally Kolar Photography, who are both wonderful photographers local to Columbia County. The latter has an absolutely gorgeous studio, and she was able to help me a lot with posing and making my headshots look absolutely gorgeous!
Kolar is not new to pageant photography (or photography in general), and it definitely showed through her beautiful work! Mina Brown was also amazing and very patient with getting the headshots I wanted, too!
In addition to getting photos done, I did also get makeup and hair professionally done for the photoshoots! For the first photographer, I did my own hair, but I got my makeup done at Sephora. Since it was something I needed to schedule before the new year, I did not know if local makeup artists and hairdressers were open or if they would respond, so I did Sephora!
However, for my second photoshoot, I went with Abi Makeup and Hair, and the work she did was absolutely gorgeous! She was able to highlight my features and make my hair look bouncy! Even if the makeup was dramatic, she still made it look like me! Highly recommend her if you are looking for a great hair and makeup artist!
The last time I got my hair and makeup done professionally was for my wedding! I tend to do my hair and makeup by myself, but there is a noticeable difference when it is done professionally!
Of course, last week was National School Choice Week, and as many of you know school choice is one of my initiatives!
I met with Americans for Prosperity Georgia and attended an Augusta area school choice event!
In addition to photoshoots and promoting my platform, I have also been in training! You can do all the service, community outreach, and all, but you CANNOT neglect the training for the pageant!
I have been working on my catwalk, and many ladies make it look so EFFORTLESS during pageants! It is a lot more difficult than it looks, but I just need to practice PRACTICE PRACTICE! My coach is the former Miss Georgia and former Miss Georgia USA, Alyssa Beasley Creekmore with Eskew Consulting.
Also, eating healthy and working out also helps me prepare for the pageant. It is more than just about getting fit or looking good on stage. It is a WHOLE mindset change! I have been working out for a while, but what I am doing with my trainer, Sarah Kisling at Bombshell Fitness has been life changing!
She and the other Bombshell ladies have been so encouraging! It is wonderful to have a community of ladies who enjoy working out and work to be fit for life!
Since announcing that I will be doing Miss Georgia USA, it has opened me to a new community and network of wonderful ladies. Sisterhood is truly important!
Thank you for joining me for my first official month preparing for Miss Georgia USA!
