Sorry for the delay on my March recap! A lot has been going on, and I am about to head out of town for work-related activities (and I get to add some pageant work in, too!)
I would say this month was also a little stressful again, but I also reminded myself why I am competing! Having a strong mindset is absolutely vital, and I need to remember to focus on myself and not the other girls! I have been taking Heather Sumlin’s Mental Mastery for Pageantry, and it has taught me a lot about myself and how to better prepare myself.
When it comes to paperwork and interview, I have also been working with Jamie Hadfield, the former Mrs. Utah (Mrs. American), and she was the coach to R’Bonney Gabriel who was Miss Universe 2022! Hadfield prepared me for my first mock interview, and I thought I did so terribly, but I did better than I thought! Just need to be more confident and not afraid to be me!
I loved being able to read to students today at Fort Eisenhower’s (Fort Gordon) Freedom Park School for National Read Across America Week earlier this month during National Read Across America Week.
These children are from military families, and I read them a book about a girl whose dad was deployed, and I learned how many of these students had parents who are also deployed.
Definitely a story many of them could relate to, and throughout the book were the words “Be Brave, Natalie” (the main character), and I also reminded these little ones to be brave! Just because you are brave, does not mean you aren’t fearful. It is okay to be both!
As a military spouse, I want to be able to serve my community and find ways to empower these military families, especially children!
Also, Danny joined me, and the kids loved spending time with him!
This was also a HUGE month for my platform as I am grateful the Georgia state legislature FINALLY passed the Georgia Promise Scholarship Act, which would give families more access to help them find a school that fits their needs.
Every child is deserves an education that works for them regardless of race, background, income, zip code or learning ability. Every child is different.
Gov. Brian Kemp also plans to sign the bill!
Also had another photoshoot with Sydney Rose Locker, another military spouse and soon to be mama! This time Danny joined in because he is a large part of my journey! No photos yet, but they should be coming soon!

I also walked with Mrs. Columbia County (Mrs. America/Mrs. American system), Caroline Kieran in a walk against fight against MS (multiple sclerosis) today. There are round 1 million people in the US who have MS, including around 5000 children.
These people with MS deal with so much pain, and many of them even lose their ability to walk and memory loss. As of now, there is no cure to fight MS but we hope there is a breakthrough to end it.
I had absolutely zero makeup on because I just got a facial the day before, as well as an eyelash lift.
I also met another mother from the Augusta area who will be competing in Miss Georgia USA (Alex Skiles - Miss Savannah River USA!) Honestly, I have felt less alone and more excited to compete ever since we met each other! Now I want to start a little group of the mamas competing for Miss Georgia USA and all the other state Miss USA pageants!
Also, before Easter I got to volunteer for an Egg Hunt with the Fort Eisenhower Exchange! Even some kids told me they remembered me when I visited their school!
April will be extremely busy for me, so stay tuned on the various activities I get to be involved with, including Month of the Military Child!
